National Merit Commended Students Recognized by Board of Trustees

National Merit Students with School BoardThe National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the Commended students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship program.  About 34,000 Commended students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2019 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who enter the competition by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test.

The Commended students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success! The Commended students for the East Allen County Schools are: Nathan Fuchs and Austin Barnett, seniors at Leo High School, principal, Dr. Neal Brown (Mr. Jody Smith, asst. principal in photo) and Steven Dellinger - senior at Woodlan High School, principal Mr. Denny Kern.
