Preliminary Proposed Projects

The preliminary proposed projects listed as part of a possible Referendum were developed from various sources.  The preliminary listing is fluid and the final plan for the Referendum will probably be different from what was originally proposed based on what was heard at the community meetings.

Provided below are responses to questions that were asked:

Why a larger facility for administrators?
The plan is to consolidate district administration functions at one location to improve efficiency and effectively.  Currently district administration functions are housed at the Administration Building and Park Hill Learning Center.  The square footage of the former New Haven Elementary is actually less than the square footage of Park Hill Learning Center.

Why new elementary building next to new elementary?
The intent is construct a new New Haven Intermediate School in the current location of the New Haven Middle and Park Hill Learning Center facilities.  The New Haven Intermediate School would be designed to be large enough to house 3rd through 6th grade students. The former New Haven Elementary School is not large enough to house 3rd through 6th grade students.

How did the needs assessment come about for each respective attendance area?  How did the Board come up with the current list?
The needs of the district have been identified from various sources such as a district feasibility study, building walkthroughs, staff input, board input, and community input.

Where does the $74 million come from?
The preliminary estimate of a $74 Million Referendum came from construction and soft cost estimates for various projects.  The final plan which may be higher or lower that the district proceeds with will list what projects are planned and the associated costs.
